background & experience
I am a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of experience treating adults, adolescents, and couples in psychotherapy. I am an avid listener and have a deep interest in language and the subtle, multi-layered ways that meaning is conveyed and received when two people are talking. At its best I think therapy is a collaborative, creative endeavor.
I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, and my B.A. in English and Classics from Stanford University. My clinical training was at Mt. Zion Hospital in San Francisco and the Ann Martin Children’s Center in Piedmont, CA. I am a member and former board member of the Northern California Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology and a member of the American Psychological Association.
I have supervised psychology interns for many years, currently at Access Institute for Psychological Services and California Pacific Medical Center.
